Just by listening to your music, all the other guitar players sound so bad as if their technique level were like nothing. I just couldn't believe that there was such a great guitar player like you, untill the day the I heard your music for the first time. I always knew about you, but when I heard your guitar, it was just like beyond my beliefs. it was amazing. I have been your fan for so long, exactly since the beginning of my teen age, and since seventh sign for me it came to die-hard level, of course I¨ve had all your works completely even also yours in alcatrazz. So, consequently, I know your music, whole in detail from one album to others released. Since in alcatrazz ( No Parole for Rock¨n Roll ) to date you recently released attack, I know them very detail each, your music vision, your music development, your music direction and your musical creative process.
As a guitarist paralelly I know who you are in this world of modern guitar music ( especially in rock and metal music ), your techniques / skill of playing the instrument, your development and accomplishment, I¨ve also got a complete and detail sight on it / your playing. I know you in detail by listening to all your works, besides it also by reading news relating to you which I have observed from numerous sources.
I view You¨ve been your self in making your musics, you¨ve been autonom, independent and free in your creative process and your musical idealism has always got its space in most of your works / albums. All of your works have manifested your idea and your vision in music- especially in guitar music-individually and independently. This caused by your hard-typical personality, logical consequence: you have become a very uncompromised and tight-principled person in solo career you¨ve walked and kept all the time purely have been giving you the optimal and maximal space in making and expressing everything of your own music.
Everyone knows you as an ultra egoist in making and playing music, all also know you as a very hard-typical person to work with ( to work as a team, and that¨s why everyone knows that among the guitar greats ever, you are the hardest and the most difficult one to work with ), but nonetheless they surely and honestly also admit you as an exciting and amazing musician and player.
So, the point of my observation above is: you¨ve got independence and autonomy in making, expressing, and playing your own musics and instruments so far. You¨ve reached everything in solo career, nearly perfect I think, cause in this life nobody¨s and nothing¨s perfect, man !!! Of course I recognize your works and playings are great, amazing, cool and tasty, surely so many people out there feel the same,.both fans and non fans. You¨ve got everything now, man !!! and that¨s defenitely near-perfect, OK !!!
Departing from these all, as a die-hard fan, I think it would be great too to see you in broader and new settings without hampering your music idealism and vision.
I am convinced that your works made by teaming with top quality-rated musician would produce other top high-quality musical works in other rich variations.
Today you are reaching 40, according experiences of old great guitarists and musicians ever, it¨s remaining about 10 years for you to do serious music career and after it, usually time belongs to family bussiness, spending and enjoying time with wife, children and relatives.
That¨s why I think now is the time for you to make other works by collaborating or teaming with top-quality musicians I mean just try to unite some of the top-quality musicians in a band to make great albums or works, it would be great thing for your self if you implement this ( idea / effort ) to integrate some of the very high quality musicians without limitating or felt limitated eaach- other in which you¨re as an organizing or leading person. In its implementation to reach the best result, I think freedom space in creative process, in playing the instrument and the music, and in expression has to be kept wisely, though it does not mean self-oriented, but team oriented
What a great and beautiful music work it would be if normal freedom of some top-quality musicians united and integrating in long lasting harmony. Each has idealism and vision, the most exiting challenge is how to combine and unite one¨s with others¨ without inhibiting each-others. Everyone has his own space and freedom of music expression, but it is not unlimited, cause human is social being that in certain situation has to come in to compromy, and so is with the life of artists and musicians. I think you need to know the good sample for this, pay attention to Dream Theater, in which all the members make, play and express the music and instruments freely but integrate well in one. You surely also know that each member of the band are incredible enough instrument player and good composer too.
As you ever said recently in an interview that you¨ve realized your ultra-egocentrism and now you¨re getting more mature and wiser from time to time in running your life, in behaviours / conducts, surely that,s a very productive and positive thing. The core point I meant for this is : Be free, comfortble, enjoyful and peaceful in one ( team ). That¨s why I feel it would not be a big problem for you now to controle and ( even if necessary in certain situation ) to conguer your self ( ego ) in effort to coordinate, to unite, and to manage well a GREAT TEAM / BAND consists of very amazing monsters to make and create MASTERPIECES or GREAT WORKS, a very-challenging big project I think, don¨t you think so, my most favourite musician ・???
It would be the great band or music team ever if the band consist of Guitarist Yngwie Johann Malmsteen, Bassist Billy Sheehan ( David Lee Roth Band, Mr.Big ) or Tony Levin ( Peter Gabriel, Yes, etc. ), minimal: Svante Henrysson, Keyboardist Rick Wakeman ( Yes ) or Jens Johansson, minimal: David Rosenthal, Drummer Eric Singer ( Black Sabbath, Gary Moore, Badlands, Kiss and Alice Cooper ) or Carmin Appice ( Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, etc. ),or Mike Terrana, or Tommy Aldridge, minimal: Patrick Johansson, Singer Andre Matos ( Ex-Angra, a Brazilian Band ) or Jason LaBrie ( Dream theater ) or Mike Matijevic ( Steel Heart ), minimal: Mark Boals.
Most musicians know well that Billy Seehan is now one of few best bass players in modern music industry world, even no wonder many experts and critics feel the same, Billy is the bass great, exactly called: monster of bass ever . And so are Tony Levin, his techniques and Innovations of playing bass are credible and amazing too since mid 70s. About Svante Henrysson, I think you your self know well. Don¨t you !
In 70s and even up to mid 80s, there are three Premier Keyboard Players in the world of Rock and Metal musics: Keith Emerson, John Lord, Tony Kaye and Rick Wikeman, but realistically Rick is The most possible to work with, cause we know he is the youngest among them ( the four ), while Emerson, Lord and Kaye are too old to work now. About Jens and Dave, I think they are the best two keyboard players you ever teamed, detailly you know them, don¨t you !
Every rock and metal musician, music critic and music lover knows that Carmin Appiceand Eric Singer were the monsters of drum in the era of late 70s to early 90s and I think now they are still amazing to play their instrument. About Tommy Aldridge, Mike Terrana and Patrick Johansson, surely you know completely.
Have you ever listened how beautiful, flexible, cool and great the Angra¨s singer Andre matos ¨s voice is ? if you haven¨t, let¨s listen what a beautiful voice he had sounded with the band. Listen to his from the album Angels Cry ( 1993 ) to Fire Works ( 1998 ). As you¨ve ( and also many other high and well-quality musicians ) experienced, the band and Andre Matos himself then were so / more popular in Japan than others Though he is not the Angra¨s member anymore, I am so sure that Andre Matos still sounds great now, that¨s why I think he is very suitable for singer position, moreover he is still in golden age now, if I don¨t mistake he¨s about or not far from 30 years Moreover like you, Andre Matos¨ background, basic and root are classical music too, It means you both more and less are in the same or close vision and taste, so condusive to team up I think, don ¨t you ? Many have compared his voice with Robert Plant¨s in Led Zeppellin golden era. Mike Matijevic also sounds great and catchy. In era mid 80s to mid 90s his voice had been so amazed in rock and metal music industry. I brieftly feel that he remains the same now, I am sure you know
him too. James LaBrie, with rather different vocal color, is equally good: dramatically, powerful, aggressive and wide-range About him, I am so sure you know well too more and less, cause: who don¨t¨ know Dream Theater in era 90a About Mark Boals, Most of your fans feel that generally Mark is the best vocalist you ever work with. His vocal is so rich and dramatical, for detail surely you are the one knowing his best, OK !
The first resuming question for you Yngwie: how do you think of this opinion of mine, is it applicable ? will it come true, my idol ?? Will THE DREAM PROJECT / TEAM / BAND come to reality ??? I ｀ll always hope you will have been passionate and mature enough to conguer this exiting and great challenge, uniting and integrating THE MONSTERS to create more MASTERPIECES.
And then, my idol, you have never made such a guitar greats collaboration, like G3 concert for example. Other recent Guitar Greats have occasionally made it, namely: Eddie Van Halen ( in 83 Star Fleet Project, teaming with Brian May and others ), Steve Vai ( in some G3 concerts with Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson, also ever with Brian May once in London, of course you also know in detail ), Joe Satriani ( also with Eric Johnson and his own ex-pupil, you also surely know about ), The late Stevie Ray Vaughan ( teaming with Eric Clapton, Peter Green, BB.King and etc. ) and some others too much to decide here, you surely know, I¨m sure, don¨t you ???
Don¨t you want to collabotate and play with Eddie, Steve, Joe, Uli Jon Roth, Michael Schenker or Brian May in some guitar instrument concerts ???
I am absolutely convinced that Yngwie Johann Malmsteen has hidden passion or desire to play with Eddie, Steve, and Joe together on a stage occasionally. If it happens world music community would certainly whisper and shout; ＾ Look ・..! World¨s Four Top Best and Greatest Guitarists gather !!! What a fantastically amazing collaboration that is !!! Let¨s see them playing Jimmy Hendrix¨s, Deep purple¨s, Led Zeppellin¨s, even Far Beyond The Sun, Brothers, Blue, Eruption, Spanish Fly, Ain¨t Talking About Love, For The Love of God, Liberty, The Animal, Always, Crushing Day and Surfing with The Allien・・Wow・They play in a beautiful and cool
collaboration of improvisation and harmony・. You are crazy not to see it ・.Windfall never comes twice, mate !!! ＾ Or if not so, with Uli Jon Roth, Michael Schenker and Al DiMeola, as you¨ve always planned since long time ago ( but never come to reality ).
How do you think, my yngwie ??? will it also have opportunity and chance to come in to reality ??? So many people – especially rock and metal guitar music fans – around the earth are waiting for so long and believe it will certainly come true. So, please don¨t make them / us down. Great musician will never let the fans down ( all fans defenitively still remember you¨d ever said ( in some occasions ) that to you, fans are everything and give you desire and inspirations to play music ) and I believe Yngwie Johann Malmsteen is a great musician and always keep the promise ever said..
In music Philosophy, Mr Yngwie, exists a phrase which sounds about like this : ＾ For an artist, the power to discover and to express art sense in himself / her self is certain to come to a culmination, next it needs out siders¨ or others¨ energy to explore it maximally.￣. It means that every human being has limited and maximal strenght to do self –expression and self dicovery alone.
Then, to do more he / she needs other or out side power in operating self seeing from out side, broadest and other perspectives in order to discover and then to developed that art sense of his or hers at the maximum level. So, inside and out side elements combine to reach the maximum.
Finally, Maestro Yngwie Johann Malmsteen, try to reflect on your own long time music careerand then reflect on my empirical opinion, then compare both. Fans ( especially in the die-hard level or fanatics ) and other high quality music lovers around the world have been waiting for Implementation of this opinion from you. I have just finished watching the Concerto Live DVD for the first time and I am quite impressed.
I was expecting only the best from Yngwie but got a whole lot more.
The picture and sound quality are beautiful. The orchestral version of Black Star is just awesome.
Trilogy Suite is also very nice. Yngwie has outdone himself with this DVD release.
This DVD is worth the money.
Presto Vivace is one of my favorites to be performed on this DVD.

I have recently experienced your "Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra in E Flat Minor" on DVD, and I have to say I'm very impressed!　It's just amazing!

Well, actually, I've found one editorial problem in "Vivace": I think there is some phrases edited in the cadenza, but the edit is not perfectly done leaving some noise behind due to the acoustics. HOWEVER, the problem is just a drop in the bucket, and no doubt your performance overall is really a history.

One more thing. As a classical music lover, I would like you to play live with an orchestra some Bach, Vivaldi or whatever in its original form; it doesn't have to be the precise Bach or Vivaldi; it's your play that counts here, so I wouldn't care about the tiny details of the original if you played it. I just want your play on it. To tell you the truth, after watching your great performance on the DVD, I can't stop dreaming you on the stage with an orchestra playing some Bach or whatever and making the same kind of musical impression on us again; it comes now even as an obsession, believe me! I know I'm just dreaming, but please consider it sometime.

Anyway, thank you for the great moment. I'm sure I'll recommend this DVD to every music lover
that I know.

In spite of my effort, I couldn't get a ticket for the first day of Concerto with NJP last year, so I only went the second day. My impression to the concert was just great as I was almost lose consciousness, and it was a precious experience which I could hardly believe that I had it in this world. At first I knew about you as I was a hard rock fan, but my respect for you became huge that I'm only listening to your music or Bach now.
In fact, I have a 4 year-old son, and he started to sing snatches of your music by my influence. So I decided to take him to your concerto live with me, on the June 17, Orchard Hall last year, and very luckily I could get tickets of 2nd row seats, just in front of you. My son, 3 years and 11months old at that time, was listening attentively to your play in Part 1, but his manner changed gradually when Part 2 started, saying ﾒThis song is the one I'm always listening.ﾓ or ﾒYngwie, he's really ---blah blah..ﾓ When I told him to be quiet he started to go up and down the seat, and I was very impatient as his father. I was really nervous, thinking you might get angry when you saw it, but it never happened and you did a great play for us instead. Thank you.
Now, he's a cheeky guy playing air-guitar with your song, but I do believe the fact that his first experience of the concert was your great concert which became CD will be the biggest encouragement in his life.

About twelve years ago I met you !
At that time I was 16 years old, I met your sound at first.
That was "MAGIC　MIRROR", my friend told me it's very fast speed music, he made me listen it.

Especially I loved the part where before you guys set off the fireworks, and prepared us by moving us all back. It was awesome that you guys considered the welfare of the audience, and warned us before the fireworks began. During the concert, the part where you guys silenced the acoustic guitar, without making the crowd mad, it reality all it did was boost up the adrenaline of the crowd. In conclusion the way you guys started and finished the concert was very well done, and I am sure I'm not the only one that thinks that also.
